Porch Post Design

I’ve been wanting a porch post, some call them “Welcome Posts”, ever since we moved into our new home. I finally got the time to make one!

I love how this post turned out. Working on another post with a different color scheme and style and hope to post it soon.

I finished the post with a variety of waxes from Prima Marketing, Inc. and Finnabair.

I originally thought I would paint the word “welcome” on one side of the post. However, I already designed a door wreath with “welcome” on it.

I hope this inspires you to make your own porch post.

Stay safe and healthy.

Reinventing a Project Series

Super excited to roll out a new project series today.

In this series, I take an old project and turn it into something new! Now, some might ask “why?” Well sometimes, if you are in the mood to design something new, you look for inspiration from something old. You can also look at it another way, turning a well, lemon, into lemonade. While I don’t really thing this old project can be called a “lemon”, I do think I can improve on it by designing something completely new.

I would love for you follow me on this series. Perhaps you too have a project you would like to retool and reinvent. I hope this series inspires you.

Here is Part One which can also be found on my YouTube channel.

Graphic 45 “Bird Song”: Japanese Garden Bridge & Tag Album

So happy to share with you my design using the gorgeous paper collection “Bird Song” from Graphic 45.

I was inspired to create this project from the, “Pagoda Mini Album”, I designed back in 2018.

For this design project I used Graphic 45 Staples “Square Ivory Tag Album”, and the tag die from “Square Tag & Clock Metal Dies” set.

The bridge is constructed from Graphix medium weight chipboard, reinforced gummed tape, Aleene’s Quick Dry Tacky Glue, Recollections 65lb. cardstock, and Balsa Wood dowels and thin wood pieces.

I used Tim Holtz’s Walnut Stain distress ink, Liqutex “Mars Black” paint.

Check out my YouTube channel as I will be uploading a full video walk through of this design project.
