I wanted to design and create a handy container/organizer to hold my distress inks and supplies. I honestly have tried many different organization containers. After spending a good amount of money, I decided to design my own organizer.

I knew I wanted the organizer to rotate to make it easier to select the distress inks. I also knew I wanted to use the Graphic45 Floral Shoppe paper collection for this project.

After coming up with the design, I broke the project into sections which proved to be a very good idea. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Another project using a great collection from Graphic 45. Once again, I picked up this paper collection at the Scrap N Create retreat this past March. The papers are gorgeous, and they worked beautifully with the project I designed for the April Graphic 45 Upcycle Challenge on Facebook.

I used a cigar box gifted to my craft supplies by my sister Mary. I distressed the box to make it look weathered like a trunk. I added a drawer, hardware, and other elements from the paper collection, to make this unique display. I applied Glossy Accents© to a jewelry bezel I had in my jewelry making supplies, along with a cut out from the paper collection. I attached the piece with some ball chain I had from my Tim Holtz Idea-ology supplies. In addition, I used kraft-tex© to make the leather-like straps.

Graphic 45 “Floral Shoppe” Cigar Keepsake Box

This is the first Graphic 45 April Upcycle Challenge project I designed. I used a gifted cigar box from my sister Mary to create a keepsake box which holds mini album and trinket box.

I covered the entire cigar box with ordinary package mailing paper. I distress it using Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The hardware I used was purchased from Ali Express.

Glad I held onto the cigar box collection my sister gave me because I love the way this keepsake box turned out.  It’s very versatile and can be used to hold craft room tools and items, jewelry, stationery, or memorabilia.
