Projects and Craft Room Organization

Been absent from my blog. I have been working on projects with Graphic 45 Imagine collection. Hope to post soon.

In the meantime, I have also been working on organizing my craft room. About six months ago, my husband and I purchased a new home. Although I have moved my craft items and supplies into the room, I had not begun to organize. Last night I created these labels for the magazine holders that store my packaged supplies. Below are links to some the sources.

To achieve the look I wanted on the labels, I used a Silhouette label cut file. I created the text and removed the cut lines, then grouped the label and the text into one print and cut file. After printing the labels on medium weight cardstock, I ran it through on my Cameo. The even though the labels were “chalk” I the cut file, they still looked a little dark. So, I took some chalk and ran it across each label. I then took a soft paper napkin and removed some of the chalk to reveal a more chalkboard-like look. I used square adhesive pop dots to apply the labels to the magazine holders. I have a bank of IKEA Kallax bookcases (I’ll share a video of my craft room soon), that I store these in.

How do you organize your packaged craft items? Share your comments in the comment section in this blog.

Bride2Baby Wedding Cake and Mini Album for #G45Party

I completed this project for the May Graphic 45 Challenge, #G45Party. I decided to design a wedding cake and mini album centerpiece.  I had a great time putting this project together and using the beautiful paper and elements from the collection. The design turned out just as I had imagined it.  The inspiration came from my sister Mary’s professional cake decorating career. She had made so many beautiful wedding cakes over the years, so I had to make a wedding cake as a paper project.

It is the first time using the Liquitex Modeling Paste, which amazingly fun and easy to work with!

You can watch a video of this project below or on my YouTube channel. I have added links below to some of the products I used to create this project.

Graphic 45 “Time to Flourish” Mini Folder Set

TimetoFlourish1TimetoFlourish2TimetoFlourish3

May 3, 2018

Just completed a project I designed using Graphic 45 Time to Flourish 12×12 double-sided paper collection.

Yet again, this is another truly beautiful paper collection by Graphic 45. Each sheet of paper in the collection has a different monthly theme.

I was able to design what I am calling “mini folders” for this project. However, there are other ways to use the folders. They can be used as individual birthday greeting cards, monthly journals, or an annual calendar in album format.

The folders have pockets, one with a magnet closure, photo mats/tags, and cut-a-parts from the paper collection.

You can watch a video of this project on my YouTube channel. I have added links below to some of the products I used to create this project.

Julie Nutting “French Flea Market” Flip Album

JulieNuttingFlip.PNG

I recently created this project using Photo Play Paper Company’s designer collection by Julie Nutting. I fell in love with this paper collection at a Scrap N Create retreat this past March.

Using a 99¢ IKEA photo display frame, I attached the pages with some rose gold jewelry wire I had in my jewelry making supplies. I added a few more elements from my crafting supplies to finish off the project.

This was a quick project and fun to put together. You can watch a video of this project on my YouTube channel.
