Once again, my design inspiration comes from the beautiful Floral Shoppe paper collection from Graphic 45.

Each of the flowers and greenery was created by using the Large Tag, ATC Tag & Flower Metal Dies from Graphic 45. I used paper from the collection as well as plain cardstock and a gold vellum paper to make the flowers.

The pedestal base was created by using an altered cut file from the Silhouette Design Store. I inserted a wood dowel for additional support. I added two layers of medium weight chipboard to the base of the pedestal for stability.

The entire pedestal and base was painted with a combination of mediums from Prima Marketing (Sparks acrylic paint, Patina Effect Paste, and Rust Effect Paste), I also used Liquitex white gesso, and Craftsmart black acrylic paint.

The jewel charms are from Tim Holtz Idea-ology – “Baubles”.

The mini album box is an “upcycle” from shipping packaging. I simply cut 3 ¼” box section, preserving the lid portion. I used chipboard to create the base of the box.

I designed this 12” x12” mixed media canvas primarily with Prima products (ArtAlchemy and Finnabair). I love the rich colors in the Prima products as well as the “effects” these products add to your project designs.

I started with a linen canvas, then painted the canvas with “Mars Black” acrylic paint from Liquitex. I loosely went over the canvas with white medium gesso, also from Liquitex.

I applied layers of torn script tissue paper and tea/distress ink died doilies, I purchased at Michael’s. The fabric rosette was a find while strolling through a flea market with my sister Mary. I added the braiding, from a thrift store shopping day with my sister. I added layers of gesso and the Prima paints and paste to alter the original color of the braid trim. You can see what the rosette looks like below, before color and distressing was added. I love both versions of this project.

The colors all come from Prima products “Sparks” Acrylic Paint (Finnabair ArtAlchemy), and “Rust Effect Paste” (Finnabair ArtAlchemy). The paints and paste truly added vibrant color and dimension on the design.

I’ve never done a pour before. Learning something new or trying something out for the first time is always intimidating. I finally decided to let loose of my fears and dove in.

For this first pouring project, I am using some thrift store canvases that my sister Mary gave me.

I figured I would keep my costs down in case I did not like the finished work. I am using Liquitex Mars Black Acrylic paint to base coat each canvas, and FolkArt metallic acrylic paints (already had several bottles in my paint supplies), for the colored accents.  For the pouring medium, I am using Liquitex Pour Medium.

I am going for a water-like theme for the four 11”x 11” canvasses. This is the first of the four. I’ll post all four canvasses when I have completed the project.

Second Canvas: This time I added black acrylic paint and fine turquoise glitter (sorry but I do not have the name of the glitter I am using).

Third Canvas: For this canvas I added a bit more black and introduced a new color, Green Flash #5129 for FolkArt, their Color Shift line.

Fourth Canvas: I kept all of the colors the same as the third canvas. I altered how I poured, paint color portions, and moved the paint mixture around the canvas for a totally different look.

Once all four canvases have dried, I will post a photo of all four canvases together. I hope you are inspired by this first design project using an acrylic pour.

Here is the second project I designed using the beautiful papers, chipboard elements, and sticker sheet from the Communique paper collection.

This is the second box I designed, (click here to see the video: https://youtu.be/yJdylKCJ6jon ) and I love the slim footprint of this box.

For this project, I made a mini album to accompany the 14 double-sided chipboard pages. In addition, I designed a large accordion pocket on the back of the box for even more photo and memorabilia storage.
